LECH operates 6:00–18:00 UTC, with 18:00–20:00 available PPR with 72 hours’ advance notice. IFR approaches are limited to five per day and require email PPR, ideally 24 hours in advance; otherwise, VFR is possible. Handling is not mandatory for aircraft under 2 tonnes. The airport is suitable for fuel stops, with a fixed fuel station and payment by BP or bank card; the attendant may collect landing fees in cash. Refueling is typically quick, though apron congestion from parked aircraft under maintenance can occur.
Facilities are basic, with no dedicated crew amenities and only a modest cafeteria in the main terminal. Fees are paid in the main terminal on the first floor, requiring exit from the apron and re-entry through the main entrance. Example: landing fee about €20. Parking is available directly at the fuel station; one example for five days’ parking plus landing was about €80.
Ground transport options are limited; car rental can be arranged by phone, and there is a highway connection to the coast. The airport is located in an isolated area with no services outside the terminal.
Runway 06/24 is 2,500 meters long; runway 06 has an upslope and can present high density altitude conditions during midday heat. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
