Rennes St. Jacques Airport offers a friendly and efficient experience for general aviation, with both VFR and IFR operations supported. Two runways are available, with the longer runway typically used for arrivals and departures. Stand allocation is by letter/number painted on the apron, and parking is available either at the AeroClub or on the main apron. The AeroClub is welcoming and can be contacted at acriv@wanadoo.fr; parking there may be free, though donations are appreciated. Otherwise, parking and landing fees are paid at the information desk in the main terminal, where staff are noted as helpful.
Landing and parking fees for two days are about €40. Example: landing and two days’ parking about €40. Automated fuel pumps (Shell, credit card) are located next to the AeroClub, with clear instructions; Avgas is available via bowser on request. Four car hire companies operate in the main building about 150 meters from GA parking, including Europcar, Sixt, and Alamo. An Uber ride into Rennes city costs about €20.
Access between airside and landside requires presenting a pilot’s license and ID to security cameras or staff; some procedures may be in French only. Hi-vis jackets are required when walking between aircraft and terminal. A café is available on site for refreshments.
Customs require 24 hours prior notice (PNR), with notification by GenDec recommended if using the AeroClub as your parking location. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM for operational details. Rennes is suitable for non-commercial GA pilots seeking straightforward access to Brittany with good facilities and ground transport options.
