Pilot Comments for LFTW
Brice
Very easy airport, lots a big planes (army refueler) parked on the main apron, they put us on a side apron, and a Marshall with a car was waiting for us, drove us to the terminal and back at the end of the day. Quite quick, easy and all in 18EUR (no handling ). Uber came in 10min and quick ride to the city center that is well worth a visit with roman building, shady tree lined avenue and good restaurants. Highly recommended for a day trip.

PPR is required for parking; requests are easily handled by email to nime.ops@edeis.com or ops@edeis.com, with prompt responses. IFR and VFR operations are straightforward, with RNAV approaches available and RNP 36 used. CTOTs may apply due to ATC staffing. GA parking is close to the terminal, typically a 1-minute walk, though the airfield is large and taxi routes can be long. Marshallers often guide aircraft, and ground handling is efficient and friendly. Parking space can be limited, so advance coordination is advised.
Landing and parking fees are low compared to neighboring airports. Example: landing about €20; three days’ parking about €30–40; combined landing and one night about €25; combined landing and two nights about €40. No handling fee is charged for GA. Payment is generally quick, but occasional delays at checkout or with fuel can occur, especially during airline activity.
AVGAS and Jet A1 are available via Shell truck; payment by credit card is accepted. Refueling may be delayed if airline or military traffic occupies the apron. Car hire is available at the terminal, as well as a small shop and restaurant serving regional cuisine. Taxis to Nîmes cost around €40–45 for a 10–15 minute ride; Uber availability varies but can be quick, while bus service connects hourly from the main station.
Security procedures are minimal for GA; pilots should use the crew route at the far right of check-in desks. Customs/immigration require advance notice via GenDec even if not always published; procedures vary—see AIP/NOTAM.
Nîmes airport offers easy access to the city and region, making it a practical base for visiting local attractions.
